On 28th November 2024 The Belgaum chamber of commerce and industries, Belagavi Senior Vice President Shri Prabhakar Nagarmunoli attended the Joint meeting called with KERC Chairman Shri P. Ravikumar, MD HESCOM along with KPTCL & HESCOM officials to discuss about the new amendments and issues related to KERC & HESCOM.
Highlight some key points related to KERC amendments and ESCOMs.
1. Presently for a new HT Installation agreement period is for the 2 years, Suggested -required which has to be amended for 2 months.
Action – will be considered by KERC, once accepted the information will be circulated
2. Presently Under DCW self-execution work ESCOMs charging 5% as supervision charges on the total estimate cost.
Required which has to be amended for 1%.
Action – Noted, feasibility will be studies.
3. Dismantling of the installations –
a. After Dismantling & handing over the HT Installations meter and metering cubical the respective cost of the same credited to the consumer account by ESCOMs.
b. After Dismantling & handing over the LT Installations meter to ESCOMs the respective cost of the same credited to the consumer account.
c. Presently dismantling the Meter the Acknowledgement of the same shall be given to the consumer.
d. While dismantling of the installation 3 months fixed charges collecting, which has to be amendment to 1 month.

4. As per the KERC code 7 days is required for a name change for all installations which has to be amended for a 1 day.
Action – Noted & Considered.
5. While Meter is found MNR by ESCOMs, the cost of meter is collected from, it should be borne by the ESCOMs as the meter is property of ESCOMs.
Action – Noted and Considered
6. As per the KERC code penalty clause to be claimed by the consumer, the required process has to be amended for Automated to ESCOMs.
Action – Noted & considered
7. Consumers are facing difficulties in services of ESCOMs due server issues.
Action -Noted & informed immediately to IT Department, action is under process
8. While revision of the tariff by KERC it is affecting the Fixed Charges & Security deposit. Therefore we request you to not to increase the Tariff.
Action – No tariff charges will be increasing for this year and suggested if any MSMEs paying before due date cash rebate system has to start.
9. To match the demand of upcoming industries & to avoid the frequent power interruption request to Increase the Sub stations at Belagavi.
Action – New Sub stations are under process.
10. Requested to conduct awareness session for HESCOM Schemes and rebate schemes.
